Spaghetti Dinner
Thanks to everyone who came out to support us last night.
We raised almost $300, which is the cost of one student to travel to Chicago.
We had tons of pasta, pictures and good conversation.
We are just about ready for departure. 2 days left and We couldn't be more excited.
Thanks again for all your support.

Learning about the Great Migration
A Special Thanks to Ms. Williams who dropped by to teach us about the Great Migration.
We discussed causes for the Great Migration and what life was like for African Americans in Chicago after they left the South. The students will follow up by creating their own presentation of the Great Migration and describe how living conditions have changed for Blacks in Greenville, Mississippi.
Ms. Williams is a retired history teacher who did a phenomenal job bringing the Migration to life for our students. She did an interactive presentation that illustrated the experiences of the Migrants.

How can you make 600 Dozen donuts disappear?
Tell students they can go to Chicago for free if they sell them.On Monday, 600 Boxes of Krispy Kreme Donuts arrived at Solomon Middle School.
We had to use the stage becuase it was the only space large enough to store them all.
It didnt matter because only 3 days later those donuts were gone, and kids were still coming back for more. The students recieved $3 for each box they sold to go towards their trip. To help invest the students in selling, we turned it into a competion I am proud to announce: Jennifer Granger is our winner. Jennifer sold 90 boxes in just two days.
Special thanks to our staff who bought and sold dozens of dozens of donuts to help support our students.
3 - On - 3 Tournament
The 3 - on - 3 Basketball Tournament was a huge success. This past Saturday, 11 Teams came ready to dominate. After 3 grueling rounds, Team And One was declared the victor. Congratulations to Malik Flowers(8th Grader), Emil Flowers(7th Grader), and Jaquarius Sanders (7th Grader). We raised over 150 dollars and put together a team to play against the teachers. Thanks to everyone who came out to support.
